This hotel offers a haven of rural-like quiet within frenetic Houston. It is set up in an old-fashioned way, more club than hotel.
An oddball when compared to the chains and franchises, the Houstonian is run very efficiently in an old-fashioned way. Service is excellent without being imposing. There is only one restaurant, which is excellent, but seems unusual for a hotel of this class. Occupying only 3 floors and set in its own gardens this hotel has very rust in urban feel; ideal after returning from the concrete speedway that is Houston's road system. The rooms are comfortable and homely. The hotel owns the adjacent spa and health club, which offers hotel guests the largest fitness centre of any hotel. For those who like calm and good service, The Houstonian is a wise choice of hotel.
